Ficus Elastica Audrey

Ficus Elastica ‘Audrey’ is a stunning, evergreen plant known for its velvety, matte-green leaves with prominent white veins. As a more refined cousin of the classic rubber tree, it’s a popular choice for indoor gardens due to its elegant appearance and relatively low-maintenance requirements.

Light

  • Bright, indirect light is ideal for Ficus Elastica ‘Audrey’. While it can tolerate some direct morning sunlight, harsh afternoon sun can scorch its leaves.

  • This plant will grow more slowly in lower light conditions, and its vibrant green leaves may become dull.

  • Avoid placing it in overly dark areas, as insufficient light can lead to leggy growth.

Temperature

  • Optimal Temperature: 65°F to 85°F. Ficus Elastica ‘Audrey’ thrives in warm environments.

  • Cold Sensitivity: Keep the plant in temperatures above 55°F. Prolonged exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below this range can damage the plant.

Watering

  • Allow the top 2–3 inches of soil to dry out before watering. Overwatering is the most common issue and can lead to root rot.

  • Water deeply until excess water drains from the bottom of the pot, ensuring the pot has adequate drainage holes.

  • In winter, reduce the watering frequency as the plant’s growth naturally slows.

Fertilization

  • During the growing season (spring and summer), feed Ficus Elastica ‘Audrey’ once a month with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.

  • Do not fertilize during the dormant season (fall and winter) to avoid overfeeding.
