Ficus Elastica Audrey
Ficus Elastica ‘Audrey’ is a stunning, evergreen plant known for its velvety, matte-green leaves with prominent white veins. As a more refined cousin of the classic rubber tree, it’s a popular choice for indoor gardens due to its elegant appearance and relatively low-maintenance requirements.
Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal for Ficus Elastica ‘Audrey’. While it can tolerate some direct morning sunlight, harsh afternoon sun can scorch its leaves.
This plant will grow more slowly in lower light conditions, and its vibrant green leaves may become dull.
Avoid placing it in overly dark areas, as insufficient light can lead to leggy growth.
Temperature
Optimal Temperature: 65°F to 85°F. Ficus Elastica ‘Audrey’ thrives in warm environments.
Cold Sensitivity: Keep the plant in temperatures above 55°F. Prolonged exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below this range can damage the plant.
Watering
Allow the top 2–3 inches of soil to dry out before watering. Overwatering is the most common issue and can lead to root rot.
Water deeply until excess water drains from the bottom of the pot, ensuring the pot has adequate drainage holes.
In winter, reduce the watering frequency as the plant’s growth naturally slows.
Fertilization
During the growing season (spring and summer), feed Ficus Elastica ‘Audrey’ once a month with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
Do not fertilize during the dormant season (fall and winter) to avoid overfeeding.
