Oxalis

Oxalis, also known as Shamrock Plant or Wood Sorrel, is a charming houseplant with delicate, clover-like leaves and small flowers. Its vibrant foliage, often in shades of green or purple, adds a touch of elegance to any space.

Light

  • Bright, indirect light is ideal.

  • Can tolerate some direct morning sunlight but avoid harsh midday rays.

  • Grows best in a well-lit location; low light may cause leggy growth.

Watering

  • Allow the top inch of soil to dry before watering.

  • Water thoroughly, letting excess drain—avoid overwatering or soggy soil.

  • Reduce watering during its dormant period, usually in late summer or fall.

Temperature

  • Ideal temperature: 60–75°F.

  • Sensitive to extreme cold—avoid temperatures below 50°F.

  • Keep away from drafts, heaters, and air conditioners.

Fertilizing

  • Feed during the growing season (spring–summer).

  • Use a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer (10-10-10) every 2–3 weeks.

  • Avoid fertilizing during the dormant period.
