Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal.
Can tolerate some direct morning sunlight but avoid harsh midday rays.
Low light can slow growth and cause yellowing leaves.
Watering
Allow the top inch of soil to dry before watering.
Water thoroughly, allowing excess to drain—avoid waterlogging.
Increase humidity by misting or placing a tray of water nearby.
Temperature
Ideal temperature: 65–75°F.
Cannot tolerate temperatures below 55°F.
Keep away from cold drafts, heaters, and air conditioners.
Fertilizing
Feed during the growing season (spring–summer).
Use a diluted liquid fertilizer formulated for palms once a month.
Do not fertilize in fall and winter when growth slows.
