Palm Parlor

The Parlor Palm (Chamaedorea elegans) is a classic houseplant admired for its elegant, feathery fronds and low-maintenance nature. It’s perfect for adding a touch of greenery to homes and offices.

Light

  • Thrives in low to medium, indirect light.

  • Can tolerate low-light conditions, making it ideal for shaded areas.

  • Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Watering

  • Allow the top inch of soil to dry before watering.

  • Water thoroughly, letting excess water drain out—avoid waterlogging.

  • Prefers moderate humidity; mist occasionally or place near a humidifier.

Temperature

  • Ideal temperature: 65–75°F.

  • Cannot tolerate temperatures below 50°F.

  • Keep away from cold drafts and direct exposure to heaters or air conditioners.

Fertilizing

  • Feed during the growing season (spring–summer) with a diluted liquid houseplant fertilizer once a month.

  • Do not fertilize during fall and winter when growth slows.
