Prayer Plant
The Prayer Plant (Maranta leuconeura) is a beautiful, low-maintenance plant known for its striking, patterned leaves that fold up at night, resembling hands in prayer. It adds vibrant color and interest to any indoor space.
Light
Prefers bright, indirect light.
Can tolerate low light but may lose some leaf color and vibrancy.
Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.
Increase humidity by misting the leaves or placing a humidity tray nearby.
Temperature
Ideal temperature: 65–75°F.
Sensitive to temperatures below 60°F.
Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes, as this can cause leaf drop.
Fertilizing
Feed during the growing season (spring–summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks.
Do not fertilize in fall and winter when growth slows.
