Scindapsis Pictus-Silver Satin

Scindapsus Pictus - Silver Satin (Scindapsus pictus), also known as Satin Pothos or Silver Philodendron, is a stunning trailing plant prized for its velvety, heart-shaped leaves adorned with silvery variegation. It’s a low-maintenance choice perfect for hanging baskets or shelves.

Light

  • Thrives in bright, indirect light.

  • Can tolerate low light but may lose its silvery variegation.

  • Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the delicate leaves.

Watering

  • Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering.

  • Water thoroughly, allowing excess to drain—avoid waterlogging.

  • Reduce watering in cooler months when growth slows.

Temperature

  • Ideal temperature: 65–85°F.

  • Cannot tolerate temperatures below 55°F.

  • Keep away from cold drafts, heaters, and air conditioners.

Fertilizing

  • Feed during the growing season (spring–summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks.

  • Do not fertilize in fall and winter when growth slows.
