Sedum-Burrow Tails

Sedum - Burro's Tail (Sedum morganianum), also known as Donkey's Tail, is a trailing succulent admired for its plump, cascading leaves. It’s perfect for hanging baskets and requires minimal maintenance.

Light

  • Thrives in bright, indirect light.

  • Can tolerate some direct morning sunlight but avoid harsh afternoon rays.

  • Insufficient light can cause stretched, weak growth.

Watering

  • Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

  • Water deeply, ensuring excess water drains out—avoid overwatering, as it is prone to root rot.

  • Reduce watering in fall and winter when growth slows.

Temperature

  • Ideal temperature: 65–80°F.

  • Cannot tolerate temperatures below 50°F.

  • Protect from frost and sudden temperature changes.

Fertilizing

  • Feed during the growing season (spring–summer) with a diluted, balanced succulent fertilizer once a month.

  • Do not fertilize in fall and winter when growth slows.
