Selaginella Moss

Selaginella Moss (Selaginella spp.), also known as Spike Moss or Club Moss, is a lush, feathery plant prized for its vibrant green foliage and unique texture. It thrives in humid environments and is often used in terrariums or as a ground cover.

Light

  • Prefers bright, indirect light.

  • Can tolerate low light but may grow more slowly.

  • Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate foliage.

Watering

  • Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy.

  • Avoid letting the soil dry out completely, as this can damage the plant.

  • Increase humidity by misting or placing the pot on a tray with water and pebbles.

Temperature

  • Ideal temperature: 60–75°F.

  • Sensitive to temperatures below 50°F.

  • Avoid exposure to cold drafts, heaters, and air conditioners.

Fertilizing

  • Feed during the growing season (spring–summer) with a diluted liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks.

  • Reduce or stop fertilizing in fall and winter when growth slows.
