Sansevieria Snake Plant
Sansevieria, commonly known as the Snake Plant or Mother-in-Law's Tongue (Sansevieria trifasciata), is a hardy, low-maintenance plant known for its upright, sword-shaped leaves and air-purifying qualities. It's perfect for beginners and busy plant owners.
Light
Tolerates a wide range of light conditions, from low light to bright, indirect light.
Can even handle direct sunlight, though too much may cause the leaves to scorch.
Low light may slow growth, but the plant can survive in shaded areas.
Watering
Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings.
Water sparingly, especially in winter when growth slows.
Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.
Temperature
Ideal temperature: 60–85°F.
Can tolerate temperatures as low as 50°F, but avoid frost.
Keep away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents.
Fertilizing
Feed during the growing season (spring–summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks.
Do not fertilize in fall and winter when growth slows.
